ARC Ride (Kenya)
ARC Ride is Nairobi's pioneering e-mobility platform and a leader in Africa's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) revolution. Riders on ARC Ride's electric tuk-tuks and boda-bodas swap depleted batteries at stations located every few kilometers, eliminating charging-infrastructure barriers while delivering a 40% cost savings compared to petrol vehicles.
Each e-boda prevents approximately two tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, and partnerships with Green Wheels and Uber have created thousands of formal jobs for low-income drivers. ARC Ride plans to scale to 30,000 electric vehicles (EVs) by 2027, marrying environmental stewardship with economic empowerment across Nairobi and beyond.
