It all started in a Guatemalan farm field in 1984.

David Simms stood there, watching local farmers work, when it hit him:
businesses could change lives. Not just through charity, but by creating real opportunities that honor both God and neighbor.

This revelation sparked what would become Talanton.

We took our name from the Parable of the Talents in Matthew 25. "Talanton" was actual money in biblical times—valuable coins meant to be invested wisely.

That's exactly what we do today: multiply resources for both financial and spiritual gain.

Now we focus on East Africa. Why?

Because it's home to some of the world's fastest-growing economies, filled with talented entrepreneurs who just need capital to thrive.

We find these promising businesses. We invest. We mentor. And something amazing happens—jobs multiply, families gain stability, and communities transform.

Our investments aren't just numbers on a spreadsheet. They're people with names and stories. They're children who can now attend school. They're entrepreneurs who build their dreams while lifting others.

Since our first investment in 2019, Talanton’s 17 portfolio companies have created or supported 109,133 jobs across East Africa. This isn’t just impact investing—it’s Kingdom work that delivers real returns: financial, social, and spiritual.
