The founders saw an opportunity to address this crisis through technology and local manufacturing. By establishing production facilities in Kenya, they could create jobs while solving a critical health and environmental challenge. Today, Burn operates one of Africa's largest cookstove manufacturing facilities, employing nearly 2,000 people and reaching over 1.3 million households.

Burn's innovative cookstoves deliver an 81% reduction in harmful emissions while cutting household fuel costs by 40-50%. Their pioneering "Pay-as-You-Cook" financing model removes upfront cost barriers, allowing families to access life-saving technology through small, manageable payments that make clean cooking both healthy and affordable.

With over 50% of their workforce being women and 70% African management, Burn creates meaningful employment opportunities in communities with limited options. They've strengthened local economies by paying $18.9M to over 1,250 African vendors, ensuring that their impact extends throughout the supply chain and supports regional economic growth.
